Personal Auto Credits, Flexible Payment Terms, & RMV Extensions
Atchue Insurance hopes that you and your family are remaining healthy during these challenging and unprecedented times. As we continue to navigate the rapidly changing situation, we wanted to pass along a few important updates to our customers.
In response to financial impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, insurance company partners are announcing plans to apply a percentage credit to Personal Auto policy premiums for the months of April and May.
These credits reflect the fact that many people have been staying home and driving significantly less than normal over the past several weeks.
Companies will automatically apply the credit to active Personal Auto policies, and no action is required on your part to be eligible for it. Your insurance company may contact you directly with more specific information regarding their plans.

Additionally, insurance companies and premium finance companies have announced various measures to assist all policyholders (personal and business) that are experiencing financial difficulties during this public health and economic crisis. These measures vary somewhat but generally include waiving late fees and allowing for additional flexibility in payment terms.
If you are having difficulty or have questions regarding a premium invoice that you have received, we encourage you to call our office or your insurance company directly to discuss the situation.

Finally, the Registry of Motor Vehicles has announced extensions to the expiration date of several items or documents that were previously set to expire between March 1 and May 31. These extensions include (but are not limited to):
- Passenger Drivers’ Licenses & Learner’s Permits
- Commercial Drivers’ Licenses CDLs)
- Passenger Plate Vehicle Registrations
- Vehicle Inspection Stickers
We encourage you to visit the RMV’s COVID-19 Information Page for further details on these and other extensions and procedure changes. The limited RMV branches that remain open require you to make an appointment online in advance; walk-ins without an appointment are not allowed. Many common transactions can be completed online at Mass.Gov/RMV without requiring a visit to a branch.
